Seeking the wildness within
I am Claire Falconer. I work and love to escape the boxes and become a little wilder each day. I live in a little off-grid home on a grassy hillside. The studios where I work sit in the valley just below.
I love making art of all kinds. My focus at the moment is sculptural water features as one half of Falconer Art Studios. We cast these at The Falconer Foundry, a fine art bronze foundry in Kwazulu-Natal South Africa.
Through it all, I write.
Words help me think, love, process, and create. I have written a handful of books, one of which is available in print, and the other in e-book format. More flow and rest in my fingers and heart. I believe we can find ourselves in stories, and that the truth lies not in the details but the sum of our stories.
Making art is woven into the fabric of who I am and how I live in the world. I believe that making, exploring, and enjoying art serve as interfaces between worlds, between different parts of ourselves, and between each other.
